Surprise Birthday Party! Supportive Family! Big Box Birthday Gifts! CAKE! Formative Ideas About Who Is A Mathematician! and Solving Problems!Terysa Solves It: Think Like A Computer is an extremely powerful story and illustration of support, individual self-assurance and thinking outside the “toy box”.This book also acts as a guide for families and communities to offer unique ways to nurture, encourage healthy curiosity and early learning problem solving skills towards their daughter or female students’ hobbies and interests."If a young girl's hobbies and activities of interest are suppressed at a young age, she may lose confidence in other aspects of her life as she grows."Terysa Solves It! Is fun, beautifully colorful and skillfully handled; natural interest, problem solving skills based on natural interest while simultaneously introducing young girls to creativity pursue STEM.
Think Like A Computer is such a fun book about determination. I love how Terysa uses what she has to figure things out. She never gives up! My 3 girls loved it! Cute packaging, too!!!
They couldn't wait until I come home with the book and they have read it already. I love every detail about not giving up and doing what you love. Awesome illustration!!
Cute story that showcases an inquisitive child working her way through a problem. I love how the main character is from an under represented group (African American female) and speaks on being a mathematician. As an English teacher, I know that representation matters and this book puts the possibility of doing something that may be foreign (learning to work through problems and exploring a love of STEM) in the hands of little girls who look like the main character. And the illustrations are amazing!!
This is an amazing story for children. As parents, we don't often find children's books about the tech space & STEM subjects. The main character is bright and also adorable. The story is fascinating and would appeal to any and all children. An absolutely phenomenal read! You won't be sorry with this purchase. I'm not only a parent but an educator as well. We need more books like this for our future leaders!
